One of our recent memory verses was Psalm 145:8, “The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.” What an encouraging verse this was during a recent trip. It was a challenge to me to have the goal of growing more in those 4 character traits. A 3×5 index card was nice to look at on the dash board as we bumped along the roads for 12 days. And timely! I sure needed it! Isn’t it amazing how much the Book is like a mirror sometimes? Ouch.
Perhaps, if someone saw those concepts in me and could say “Stan is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger and of great mercy”, then I could be considered godly or like God! Wow, isn’t it great how God fortifies you with Scripture before you are in the situation to need it? He is good. He knows.
Anyway, enough selected ramblings. Our recent trip went well. About 16 hours for the 460 miles – Each way – Not including stops. (We almost averaged 30mph.) We were able to visit 3 churches up where we used to live. Thank you for helping us to be able to help Wabag Baptist Church with over 120 Bibles for Wabag and Kompium, hundreds of tracts and 15 student packs for literacy class.
Pray for God’s Kingdom to continue to go forward there also. We then visited churches at Birip and Wapenamanda before returning. We covet your prayers for another trip to Birip this next month. We need power, strength and wisdom, and more godly character!
Through your prayers,
Stan & Tresa Rowe and family
