November 2017 Prayer Letter

Opportunities and Challenges

Variety, they say, is the spice of life.  Who knows what a day may bring forth?  Proverbs 27:1 says, “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”  As someone else observed, the best laid plans of mice and men often go differently!

This last month has been a good bit of everything.  It’s been like catching popcorn.  A daily variety of different things “pop up” to take on.  Some of the challenges included 3 of us catching and recovering from Typhoid.  Sickness is a good opportunity.  It can help to develop patience and compassion, especially for those at our back door for medicine and bandages from time to time.

Special opportunities to preach included the Wau Baptist Missions conference, Youth Closing Program, Public High school Graduation, and an Ordination service last week.  The challenge was fitting it in between ongoing Bible school classes, the normal church preaching out at Kaisenik, 2 Religious Instruction Classes, ACE School administration and discipline, etc.

Tresa made it safely to Ozark, MO, USA and Bro Jim Blume made it here to visit PNG again.  A lot of encouraging preaching, fellowship and other admin work is getting caught up.  The challenge is to fit it in the time allotted, and Aaron and Norm have to put up with my cooking.  At least I’ve been promoted to chief cook and bottle washer for the last month.  Another couple more weeks . . . and I’ll be ready to triple Tresa’s pay for running the house!  Thank you again for making the ministry possible.

In Him,
