Dear Pastor & Church,
Death is a part of life, someone has said. And it is so true. As I looked at the face of death, the face of a young man killed by the police a few hours before, death became more real. Bro. Blume transported the body back to his house. Two weeks later, at almost the exact hour he was shot, I was preaching his funeral. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27. He had done well in school, had a promising future but had gotten involved in illegal activities. Some of the family does attend church. Please pray for some good fruit to come out of a bad situation.
Tresa and I were invited to a 3 day youth meeting in Lae. I had the opportunity to preach 4 times there with Bethel Baptist Church at 4-mile settlement area. The spirit and singing were a blessing and one young lady was saved Sunday night. Praise God for a good time and pray for the pastor, Timothy Sogeri and the work there. Next we attended a meeting in Port Moresby and were blessed by the preaching around the theme of Jeremiah 6:16. It was good preaching of getting back to the old path, of getting back to the Bible and living by faith. May the Lord continue to bless Morata Baptist Church and Bro. Holmes Tako.
In September we also helped some with preparations for a youth camp with Australian missionaries Dave & Julie Crowe near Yonki area. Thank you for your prayers for our safety in traveling during October. On October 9th, Christopher left home and returned to the States, I went to Mareeba, Australia for training with MAF, and the Blumes returned to the US for a medical furlough. Thanks again!
